 A few months ago, David signed up on all the trendy social networking websites. Since then, he has accumulated 230 friends - friends from school, from university, old work collegues, new collegues, new friends, his family… and even some people who he hardly knows and who he would never even thought about sending messages to - its just a list, a long list of contacts that don’t mean anything.

Speaking of which, he really would like to do something with this list. Make the most of this network of people to go out, meet people, do cool things… but nope, impossible to use this list of contacts making it seem pretty useless at the end of the day.

 Claire wanted to find a fun destination - not too expensive, not too alone, not too soon, not too late, without too much adventure on the menu, but just enough. Enough to brag about to her friends when she got back, about how she built up her own little group just like her while away on vacation.

So easy!!! Internet has loads of offers available – cheap, expensive, solo trips, not so solo trips, far, or not far at all. Claire found bargains by the dozen… but in the end, they all got put aside.

By burying herself in that special offers tunnel, “special offer – last day – top promo pricing - special flash offers – slashed prices” all alone in front of her computer, despite all her patience, she finished up… buried.

In the end, none of her choices looked any good. “Too soon – too late – sold out – full” – hours of surfing only to end up against a brick wall, or isolated in the middle of some maze of inextricable but juicy internet offers, to find anything at all. “Patience was lost” !!!

Going back to the village wasn’t much fun...

 Go away somewhere, ok, but where? Go where, for what?

There is no way that Céline and William want to relive the last package deal where everything was planned ahead, but it all turned as sour as vinegar!

Everyone was fine with organising the ‘group package’, but because each person had their own ideas, everything started going horribly wrong right from the first day! The so called ‘group’, who supposedly shared the same passion for mountain climbing started to melt just like the snow under the sun – and since then the friendly relations have become very … tense. The walk through the mountain paths was decididly… icy.

Everything is included, even the price, and you don’t need glasses to read that the price is right – its written BIG – So at least thats clear, its net, and that’s direct!

Except that when you click the last button ‘confirm’ out come all the other hidden costs. all kind of costs added one by one : the person who took the order, the person who looks after the ‘vouchers’, the person who took the reservation for the hotel, the person who looks after the website, the person who found the destination, the person we don’t even know about and so the list goes on.

So for direct net pricing, all that is not very… net… and the price we thought so cheap is actually getting higher and higher with all these intermediate & expensive costs adding up (but apparently they are inevitable!)

 Golf is Stevens passion… he would really like a long weekend swinging on the green with other golfers. This week while searching on the internet, he found a ‘weekend special for golfers’ only 2 hours away from his place… looked like the perfect deal! Golf not being Sandra’s favorite thing, he decides to go alone, with the idea of meeting other like minded golfers during his weekend away.

 Once he arrives – the nightmare begins…
Steven realises that he has made a big mistake. The weekend has been organised for people to look at the view of the green rather than playing on the green - with talk of everthing from movies and fashion to art and theater – but nothing about practising their killer swings or lowering their handicaps!

Finally, after some tentative swings, and hundreds of golf balls lost in the neighbouring woods, everyone decides to go back to the hotel to practise their swings around the bar.
Steven finds himself alone in the middle of the golf course. No exciting playoffs for him – what a wasted weekend!

 Since she was a little girl Jane T has dreamed of going on a group safari trip to Kenya. Her dream becomes reality as Jane T flies to Kenya in 6 days time. Whats planned? Trips out to the Savanne, new adventures, new sensations and evenings full of fun back at the club.
Jane will have the sights, elephants, giraffes, not to mention all the fun with the rest of the group, beautiful warm evenings outside full of fun with lots of new people to meet.

On arrival, catastrophy … all Jane T’s safari companions are over 60 years old! In the evening, its time for the dance party, but not too late, and not too loud, with music from the sixties that Jane T doesn’t even recognise…

Finally,  instead of Jane T’s safari turning out to be a wild adventure in the savanne, the only thing being taken for a ride is her bank account…
